Day 1 - The learning and fun begins!!
We left at 3:30 and arrived at the air port at 4:45. The students showed up and we said our good byes and boarded the plane. We had a layover in Chicago and arrived at 2:30 in DC. We went right away to The Museum Of Natural History. Here we learned alot about prehistoric life and evolution. We saw lots of fossils and replica's of prehistoric life and bones. We saw human life, ocean life, mammal life, ice age life, plant life, insect life all in fossil form. We noticed that several species while evolving over time became smaller and more refined and other species becamse bigger. We wondered what would cause some species to enlarge and others to die out or become smaller. We will have the opportunity to go back there on Saturday. After the Museum we had a 4 hour bus ride to williamsburg, part due to traffic. Here we found our hotel and ate dinner on the bus. Tomorrow we will learn all about colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown.

Glad to hear things are off to a great start. As an FYI, when you go to the Capitol ask to see the art work on display by high school students from the different states. First Grade CH aide Wendy Vawdrey's daughter Adrianna Vawdrey has a piece on display called "What's Wrong with This Picture". Her art was chosen by Governor Huntsman as one of the three from Utah. Have fun everyone!
