Day 5

Today we woke and went to Geprge Washington's House at Mount Vernon. It was raining a ton but we walked through his house and went to his grave sight along with Marsha's and his children. We saw the ha ha wall and we went inside the museum where we learned more about George Washington's life. Here we learned that any guests that came were always welcome and they often would stay for long period's of time. Sometimes eleven months sometimes two years. Their house was always full of guests and they were very seldom alone. MArsha Washington was a widow and had two children when George met her. They married and never had any children of their own. They were happy though and really loved each other alot. George Washington died of a throat infection. Martha died two years later.

After we were drenched so we got in the bus and went to the Pentagon memorial. Here we saw where the plane crashed into the pentagon and we saw the memorials for each person that died. This is another example of the Holocaust and Sadam Hussein have hatred for other people and how we need to fight against it in our world. Here we learned that children your age were killed. They were flying on the plane that was hijacked. This was a scarey place to be right before we were to fly to SLC. From here we rode the subway and went to the airport. In the airport we boarded the plane flew to chicago and then to SLC. It was a trip well worht seeing and going on. We Thank all of the parents and Ms. Heather and Ms. Sarah for letting us come!!!
